Ants in our pants!

This was not my week for controlling bugs. Since the flooding, the ants have seemed to multiply like crazy! They have enjoyed our toaster, bathroom, mailbox, family room, office, kitchen, and basement. We started playing with toys in the basement today and I realized ants were swarming around me. Raid can only do so much; more desperate measures will need to be taken!

I also killed two red hornets in my kitchen on the same day. Several cockroaches have scuttled across the floor since we moved in, which is a little unnerving when you first walk into a room. When I cleaned off the tramp after the flooding, it was a swarm of weird bugs. I am thinking about starting a chocolate bug business...any takers?

At least Becca keeps me laughing through all of this, she is fascinated with the bugs! It almost looks like she is chewing on one!

I have been wondering how you guys were doing with all the flooding I have seen on the news! I am glad that the water didn't reach your home. That is scary. And that stinks about all the bugs. The only time we ever had ants in our house in Iowa was when there had been A LOT of rain and they came into our house. But we didn't have as many as you do so good luck with that!

Becca is really cute. I hate bugs. I called the pest control people when I found some huge spiders in our house. They wanted to charge $350. So, I looked online for Do It Yourself Pest Control. I got the pump and the spray for $50.

Um, Mr. Hassman came and killed all our bugs. He was worth the $50 investment! Becca is adorable. I love navy.

On our conference note, we only had one visitor this year -- she was 52, and not in second grade.

I guess I'd rather have 5 inches of snow in October than a house full of insects. Maybe I won't apply to schools in the South. Just hope Becca doesn't eat them when you aren't looking! Maybe you should get the boys to go smash them and play "Monster Mash!"
