PUPPP-ever heard of it?

After going to the doc with itchy rashes overwhelming my belly and spreading to arms, hands, and legs, I found I have PUPPP: Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy. Lovely name eh? Here are some copy and paste statements about it, if you are interested. The rash of PUPPP almost always begins in the stretch marks (striae) of the abdomen. The rash is very itchy, or pruritic, hence the name. This condition is harmless to mother and baby, but can be very annoying. It lasts an average of 6 weeks and resolves spontaneously 1 to 2 weeks after delivery. One study has shown that male fetal DNA can be found in skin biopsies of the rash. Since 70% of women with PUPPP give birth to boys, a new hypothesis is that male fetal DNA acts as a skin irritant.

So I am taking benadryl and lathering on the hydro cortisone in order to keep the itching at bay. I will spare you all a picture of my belly. Just imagine zillions of mosquito bites all over your overstretched belly as well as on the rest of your body and that about sums it up! But thank goodness for drugs...and I'll still take this over bed rest. The babies are nice and cozy inside...Ron's spring break starts now so it would be a great time for them to make their appearance....but I bet I will posting another large belly next week :)

Babies, we are ready for you!

My friends gave me a superb baby shower!

Jace about to eat one of the tuxedo twin chocolate strawberries

35 weeks= a belly that looks/feels like an itchy mosquito bite with stretch marks, "cankles," and comments from people such as "When are you going to deliver that bowling ball, you are ready to pop, and oh honey, when are you due?"
Baby stats as of today: babies still head down-too cramped to move
Baby B: 6 lbs Baby A: 5.5 lbs (but these could be off by half a pound!)
My weight: I will send a prize to the one who is closest (or who guesses the lightest ;)
All things considered, I have been very blessed to have had such a good pregnancy with twins!

My good news for the week is that I turned in my final assignments for my degree! I am done!

The historic loosing of a first tooth...he thought it was cool that it started gushing blood at school

Words can't add to this picture...

Babies, we are ready for ya!

Ronnie took this shot...looks like a big blueberry ready to pop!

The stripes hide the blueberry with this view of a 34 week twin belly
Baby stats: both are head down, wahoo, good for attempted VBAC!
As of last week: Baby A 4 lbs 3 oz Baby B 4 lbs 12 oz
Fluids of both babies are normal as of now, yeah!

Excited older siblings awaiting their brothers
