Flooding and endless rain!

It's been raining like crazy this past week and along with waking up to rain, we also found this little guy making a home in our back entry way. Beautiful web, eh?

By 4 pm the rain was still raging and our backyard became a flooded mess, reaching the top of our tramp. By this time I had summoned Ron home and I was moving valuables up to higher ground. It must have been a sight to see Ronnie and me pushing the heavy Christmas tree upstairs! Luckily, the water did not reach the basement, but I was really worried.

Twice it reached this level, both times draining into our storm drain.

Phew, we did not suffer any flooding inside. It did make us realize what more we could do to prepare for a disaster. My advice...be prepared! More rain is still in the forecast....

I actually watched the national news tonight while feeding Maddie, so I was worried about you. I can't believe that your above-the-ground tramp was swimming in your own water-hole! So glad you're safe!

Does flooding follow you? Didn't you have crazy flooding in Iowa? Make sure you put that on Ron's current resumes' -- The Guymon Family, a walking flood warning.

Hey, love your new side bar pictures. You and Ron look so happy together. Perhaps because you are.

Miss you guys. (Nicole)

Gee, all we get is a wind storm now and then that makes your car rock back and forth. Some people get all the action and fun!

Glad you're all safe and you got to miss school! Thanks for calling with the update.

That spider web would scare me more than the floods. You guys definately will have lots of stories to tell when your kids are all grown up.
