When PBS announced that Arthur and all the PBS friends would be a the park, I thought, "Oh fun, the kids can meet all the fun characters and have a blast!" I pumped Jace up to see Curious George because it was hot outside and lunch time and he was a little sad. With our sack lunch and our family of five, we hike up a small hill before we get to Central Field. Ron and I take one look at the field and say, "Which line should we pick?" Crowds and crowds of people are lined up to see a certain character or to take a turn on the blown up funsie things. Instead of seeing characters dance on a stage like I was imagining, you wait in
a huge line to hop on a lap say "cheese," and go on to the next line. Well, unfortunately for Jace, George was soooooooo long it would have been the next day by the time we got to see the hot, sweaty monkey! Fortunately, Ronnie spotted Super Why and it was one of the shortest lines. So we munched on lunch as we waited and Ronnie was excited to see his buddy up close. Jace really had no idea what he's doing on a person's lap with a big head, but he was game anyway. Needless to say, this is the only line we visited. We said hello to George from a FAR distance and as we jumped in the van, Jace said "George?" Uh..."How about a piece of candy instead Jace?"

Cute babe soaking up some sun at the park! She wanted to see Teletubbies but we wouldn't allow it!

Oh, you brave and nice parents! Good job making a memory, and getting out while you were alive. And I agree that candy is a wonderful fix-all.
Fun post! I love your mommy stories!
I'll have to remember this in case the famous PBS characters ever come to Dayton!
Ronnie looks so happy to be there! I sounds like the fun was well worth the heat and wait.
Love baby's hat!
that sounds like fun. You guys look great. Dallin is going to be jealous. Dallin always tells everyone about his friend Ronnie. It is pretty funny, because lots of people wonder why Dallin wants to tell them about some friend from Iowa named Ronnie. Needless to say we miss you guys.
