Below zero and two staples in the head...sums up this Sunday!

We woke up today to negative degree weather and a day of pre-Christmas church to look forward to! After the opening song of "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," Jace fell and hit his head on the bottom of the pew. I quickly rushed him out, with him screaming and my face flushed. Before I was out of the chapel, I glanced at him and I saw a gash in his head and red fluid drizzling down onto his nice white shirt. Our home teacher is conveniently a doctor (and also a childhood friend of Kim, Mike, and Clay) and took a look at it and decided it needed staples. They came back from urgent care two staples later, just in time for Jace to go to nursery the last hour. What a trooper!

Because of his stained shirt, Jace sported an over-sized shirt from the Branch's lost and found, and of course, he had to have the tag cut out of it, like the rest of his shirts!!!

Now for some happy pictures: Rebecca was fine on Santa's lap until she took a glance at who was holding her, and then the fun was over! For Christmas Jace wants racquetballs and Ronnie wants Don't Spill the Beans...we'll see what Santa can do.

Have a very Merry Christmas from US!!!!

Sweet Jace. Will the fun ever end? No wonder he and Andy do well together. I should convince Andy to start getting stiches in his hair, instead of in plain sight.

You nice Momma to go to see Santa. We completely avoided that this year. On purpose, obviously.

And, SO impressed with your concluding family picture! You just all look so well-groomed. Hooray for Sunday.

Merry Christmas, to the Guymons!

Poor Jace. Glad that two staples took care of the cut. Guess it could have been worse. Have a Merry Christmas in the freezing cold midwest!

Hello Guymon Family! We got your Christmas Card - Lauren loved seeing Ronnie again. She saw the pict. of him and looked at me and said "Mom, I sure miss Ronnies. He was a great friend. I really wish we could see him again." We may need to fit a trip into St. Louie soon!
And poor Jace - I think you just need to wrap him in bubble wrap when he wakes up and take it off just before bed!

Oh, Jace! I'm so sorry! Why don't they make rubber pews already? Or ones made out of candy. Then we'd all be reverent during Church.

My kids are afraid of Santa, and Lil Mic is skeptical of it all. Also, he's worried about subjecting his siblings to the clutches of a stranger. Who ever created Santa anyway? They should have made him a big purple dinosaur so kids would love him...

I love this picture! You all look SO beautiful. and I love that Ronnie has the same sweater as Matt. They must have the same awesome Grandma.

Have a GREAT Christmas! We'll miss you like crazy!

That is so sad :( I hope he is doing well. Church of all places for it to happen, don't you think that there would have been angels there to catch him :) We got your Christmas card yesterday and it is so cute! You look so good! Your hair is getting long.

I like the comment about pews made out of candy - that got a good chuckle.
Jace was quite the trooper! Your family is so darling and the Branch is blessed for having known you.
Merry Christmas!

hmmm . . . I didn't know that Bro. Richards was an old childhood friend of anyone you knew. You learn something new everyday. I'm impressed with how well Jace took it all in stride. He seemed perfectly fine playing at the mall on Monday. I would never have guessed. And you are getting to be an old pro at emergencies, aren't you.

WOW- staples. I am soo bad with boo-boos. I am sure I would have passed out. I am horrible whenever one of the kids gets hurt! I am glad he's ok!
